We believe that our egg is on about stage 26.
the eyes have slightly started to appear the tail is slifgtly visible abd the cardiac contractions have increased.

We believe that our medaka is on stage 27 today, which is 62 hours old.
The pectorial fin is starting to show, the blood circulation is stronger, and also the heart rate has increased.


Day 8
Stage 31.
We think that the egg is on stage 35 because the eye has a cornea, the blood is seen in the arches of the gill, and the gallbaldder is now slightly visible.

We think that the egg is on stage 35.
We think this because this is the stage before hatching and it seems as if
all of the parts that make the medaka live on its own are now in the egg.

We thought our first egg would hatch on day 11,
and we were right. Our first egg and the third egg must have
been pretty close in age due to the first prediction.
Now the medaka is on stage 36, the hatching stage.
Akina can finally swim on its own, breathe, and has a very long ventral fin, about twice as long as the body.


Chorion- This is the membrane protecting the inside of the egg.
Cardinal Vein- These are the veins along the side of the vertebral column.
Cytoplasm-The watery environment inside the cell, this extracellular fluid consists of all of a cell's internal contents, and is mostly made of water.
Embryonic Shield- These are the cells in the form that embryos develop.
Extraembryonic Epithelia- This is a structure that slowly covers the yolk in the embryo.
Eyes- They allow the organism to seek out or avoid light.
Globule- This is a small droplet of liquid.
Heart- This is a muscular organ in all vertebrates responsible for pumping blood through the blood vessels y repeated, rhythmic contractions.
Otoliths- This is a. organ only in fish used for hearing.
Retina- This is the inner part of the eye.
Somite- This is a division of an animal’s body.
Tail- This is the section near to the rear of the animal.
Vitelline Membrane- This is the outer surface of the plasma membrane of an ovum.
Vitelline Veins- little hair-like projections off the vitelline membrane.
Vertebral column- This is the spine of the fish.
Yolk- This is a pale colored fluid. This is also the food source and the first sign of bloodflow.
